Face in the Rain

Life on the road sounds romantic until you remember what you have to leave behind.

"Face in the Rain" was recorded in Nashville's RCA Studio B, home to artists like Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Dolly Parton, and Floyd Cramer. The studio's Steinway grand was a perfect fit for that yearning-with-a-groove feel we wanted.

Everybody

Knows About Me

“Everybody Knows About Me” is about someone who lives with an invisible illness called myalgic encephalomyelitis. ME causes debilitating pain, neurological impairment, severe immune dysfunction, crushing exhaustion that isn’t relieved by rest, and a host of other really unpleasant symptoms. If you're wondering why you've never heard of ME, that's probably because it's more commonly known as "chronic fatigue syndrome," which is a stupid name for such a serious disease.

Highways

& Hiking Shoes

Maybe you felt the ground shift beneath you. Maybe the rumblings occurred from within. Either way, you had to deal with the consequences. You had to make choices. And as you observed friends, acquaintances, lovers, and strangers who seemed to have it together, you felt utterly alone.

Highways and Hiking Shoes is the soundtrack to a life in transition. From "Quicksand," about remaining entrenched in an existence that no longer works, to "Moving On," about accepting the end of a relationship, to "Moths in Search of the Moon," about finding the courage to chase your dreams, these songs touch on the decisions we confront as we stand at the crossroads.
